The fruiting body of the Battarra float is represented by a cap and a stem. The shape of the cap in young mushrooms is ovoid, while in ripening fruiting bodies it becomes bell-shaped, open, convex. Its edges are ribbed, uneven. The cap itself is thin, not too fleshy, characterized by a grayish brown or yellowish olive color, with the edges of the cap lighter than the color of the middle of the cap. There are no villi on the surface of the cap, it is bare, but often contains the remains of a common veil.

The hymenophore of the described fungus is represented by a lamellar type, and the plates of an umber-yellow float are white in color, but with a darkish edge.

The stem of the fungus is characterized by a yellow-brown color, has a length of 10-15 cm and a diameter of 0.8-2 cm. The stem is covered with scales arranged obliquely. The whole leg is covered with a gray protective film. The spores of the described fungus are smooth to the touch, characterized by an elliptical shape and the absence of any color. Their dimensions are 13-15*10-14 microns.

You can meet the Battarra float from mid-summer to the second half of autumn (July-October). It was at this time that the fruiting of this type of mushroom is activated. The fungus prefers to grow in forests of mixed and coniferous types, in the middle of spruce forests, mainly on acidic soils.

Battarra float belongs to the category of conditionally edible mushrooms.

Battarra float is very similar to a mushroom from the same family, called gray float (Amanita vaginata). The latter also belongs to the number of edible, however, it differs in the whitish color of the plates, in white all surfaces of the stem and base of the mushroom.
