Vitamin C is a compound that is used both in medicine and in cosmetics. We know it mainly because it supports the body’s immunity, but it is also a strong antioxidant. Although it is widely recognized as a remedy for the common cold, it has many other interesting properties. It prevents the aging process, helps prevent the formation of cancer, supports the work of the circulatory system.

Usually, when we think of vitamin C, we think of lemon. Few people know that many products significantly exceed this fruit in terms of vitamin C content. Man is not able to produce this valuable ingredient on his own, so we have to take it from the outside. The juice of one lemon provides us with 35% of the demand for this ingredient. What are some other alternative sources of vitamin C? Many of them may surprise you.

  1. Voatabia – has as much of this vitamin as lemon. Surely many people have heard that you should not eat cucumber with tomato – there is a reason for this. Cucumber contains ascorbinase that breaks down vitamin C, so eating these vegetables together, we lose the opportunity to supplement this ingredient. However, you do not have to completely give up this combination – you can sprinkle a cucumber with lemon juice and its pH will change.
  2. Paplemosy – one fruit is equal to two lemons in terms of vitamin C content. It deacidifies the body and works great to strengthen immunity.
  3. Cooked white cabbage – its 120 grams correspond to the juice of two lemons. While cooking kills most of the vitamin C, the cooked version is still a good source.
  4. frezy – just three strawberries have as much vitamin C as one lemon.
  5. kiwi – is a real vitamin bomb. One piece corresponds to three lemons in terms of the content of this valuable ingredient.
  6. Currant mainty – 40 grams of blackcurrant equals the health benefits of three and a half lemons.
  7. Broccoli – even the cooked one is the real king of vitamins, because it has plenty of them (and microelements). One piece of this vegetable is equal to a dozen lemons.
  8. Brussels tsimoka – has even more vitamin C than broccoli. It has a deacidifying effect on the body.
  9. Kale – another king of vitamins, because its two leaves are equal to five and a half lemons.
  10. voasary – one peeled orange is equivalent to five and a half squeezed lemons.
  11. Sakay – very easily available and with a huge content of vitamin C. Pepper juice is perfect for a cold!
