A fungus from the cobweb family, which has many different species.

It grows everywhere, prefers conifers, deciduous forests. Abundant growth occurs in August – September, less often in October. Fruiting is stable, almost every year.

The cap of the silver cobweb reaches sizes up to 6-7 centimeters, at first very strongly convex, then becomes flat.

On the surface there are tubercles, wrinkles, folds. Color – lilac, can fade almost to white. The surface is silky, pleasant to the touch.

The leg is up to 10 cm high, widens towards the bottom, and very thin at the top. Color – brown, gray, with purple tints. There are no rings.

The pulp is very fleshy.

There are many species of these mushrooms similar to the silver cobweb – goat cobweb, white-violet, camphor and others. They are united by a purple hue characteristic of this group, while other differences can only be clarified with the help of genetic studies.

It is an inedible mushroom.
