Xerula volo

Xerula humble is a very original mushroom. First of all, he draws attention to himself by the fact that he has a flat and fairly large hat. It sits on a long leg. This species is sometimes also called Xerula volo.

This mushroom got its name because under the cap there is a huge amount of fairly long villi. You might think that this is a dome that was placed upside down. Xerula humble quite bright brown, however, under the hat it is light. Due to this contrast, it can be detected quite easily, while the leg darkens again closer to the ground.

This mushroom is found in mixed forests from late summer to early autumn, but very rarely. Mushroom grows on the ground. It is edible, but does not have a pronounced taste and smell. It is very similar to other Xerulas, of which there are many types.
